Description
WHAT YOU'LL DO Under the general direction of the Vice President of
Business Services, plan, coordinate, supervise, and perform a
variety of functions in support of college services and operations
including supervising assigned college services, managing the
college's auxiliary services contracts, and managing campus-wide
business services-related projects.There are currently two full
time (12 months/ 40 hrs./wk.) vacancies. One is located at Oxnard
College and the other is located at Ventura College
WHERE YOU'LL WORK Oxnard College was founded in 1975 and is the
newest of the three community colleges in the county. Set on 118
acres and located two miles from Pacific Ocean beaches, the college
is easily accessible by the Ventura Freeway (Highway 101) or the

Ventura College was established in 1925 and was one of the first
community colleges in California and currently has an enrollment of
14,500 students. Located approximately 60 miles north of Los
Angeles and 30 miles south of Santa Barbara, the 112-acre campus is
set in the rolling hills of Ventura - so close to the ocean that
there is a clear view of the Channel Islands from several spots on

SALARY PLACEMENT
New Employees: Generally, new employees are placed on the first
step of the appropriate range of the salary schedule.
Current Employees: An employee who is promoted will be placed on
the salary step of the new range of the appropriate salary schedule
that provides a minimum increase comparable to a one-step increase
in salary.
New and current employees may be eligible for advanced step
placement as outlined in Section 290 - SALARY PLAN in the Rules of

In addition to the 8% salary increase already reflected in the
bulletin, the Board of Trustees has approved a 4% increase set for
7/31/2022.
This recruitment is being conducted to establish a list of eligible
candidates that will be used to fill district-wide, current and
upcoming, temporary and regular vacancies for the duration of the
list, not to exceed one year.
Representative Duties
Provide project management support to the Vice President to
implement complex projects by identifying and managing critical
paths, resource and time requirements, communication processes, and
project optimizing and contingency plans. Projects will include
college-wide initiatives such as the annual program review process
and accreditation self-study processes. E
Manage auxiliary services contracts such as bookstore, food
services, vending, and photocopying/reprographics, including
ensuring contract compliance, tracking revenues and expenditures,
and resolving issues and complaints; assist with identifying,
renewing, evaluating, modifying, and terminating District-wide
auxiliary services contracts. E
Plan, implement, and manage various assigned business
services-related projects including conducting needs assessments,
developing and monitoring implementation strategies, and developing
and tracking schedules of completion. E
Coordinate and supervise the Civic Center office and associated
operations and staff including the reservation process, event
set-ups, event management, and marketing; ensure compliance with
relevant state and district regulations, codes, policies, and
procedures; develop and manage the Civic Center budgets. E
Coordinate the college's telephone/switchboard and mailroom
operations and supervise associated staff. E
Monitor campus-wide photocopying and reprographics activity to
ensure cost effective use; develop and implement strategies to
address inefficient use and minimize cost. E
Coordinate vehicle reservations including processing requests,
scheduling, and issuing keys and gas cards. E
Create and submit reports pertaining to applicable college services
and assigned projects. E
Provide information and assistance to faculty, staff, students,
vendors, outside agencies, and the public pertaining to applicable
college services and assigned projects. E
Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate assigned staff and student
workers. E
Perform other duties as assigned.

Any combination equivalent to:
Education:
Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university
Experience:
Three years of experience managing projects of similar complexity
to that performed by the position. Supervisory experience is
preferred.

EXAMINATION AND SELECTION PROCESS: This is an examination open to
the public and current district employees seeking a promotional

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE (T&E) EVALUATION: Date Range: 2/9/23 -
2/13/23 A T&E is an assessment of training and experience,
beyond the minimum requirements, that has prepared the candidate
for the position as evidenced in the application materials. When
completing the application and the supplemental questionnaire (if
applicable), outline in detail your education, training (such as
classes, seminars, workshops), and experience. Please be sure to
answer every component of each supplemental question as your
responses will be scored and serve as your score on the training
and experience (T&E) evaluation. The top candidates with the
highest passing scores on the T&E will be invited to the
Technical Interview.
TECHNICAL INTERVIEW DATE RANGE AND LOCATION:
Date Range: Wednesday, February 22, 2023 - Wednesday, March 1,
2023
Location: The Technical Interview will be conducted remotely, using
Zoom. In order to participate in the interview, you must have
access to a computer with a camera, microphone, speakers, and a
reliable connection to the internet. The examination components and
dates are subject to change as needs dictate. All communication
regarding this process will be delivered via email.

certifications, or other requirements, by the filing deadline in
order to move forward in the recruitment process. You must attach

ELIGIBILITY LIST:
Upon completion of the examination, the eligibility list will be
compiled by combining the final examination score with applicable
seniority and veteran's credits, if any. The candidates will be
ranked according to their total score on the eligibility list.
Certification will be made from the highest three ranks of the
eligibility list. This eligibility list will be used to fill
current vacancies for up to one year from the date of the technical
interview.
PROBATIONARY PERIOD:
All appointments made from eligibility lists for initial
appointment or for promotion, with certain exceptions, shall be
probationary for a period of six (6) months or one hundred thirty
(130) days of paid service, whichever is longer. Classified
management, police, and designated executive classifications shall
be probationary for a period of one (1) year of paid service from
initial appointment or promotion.
