Job Description:
Job Description Summary The Packaging Machine Operator is
responsible for all packaging support functions such as preparation
of equipment and packaging components to be used in support of/or
packaging of the product. General Duties and Responsibilities:
Adheres to proper cGMP---s including good housekeeping, proper
protection of product quality and integrity, and personal hygiene.
Reads and understands written instructions and SOPs. Operates
production equipment required for all aspects in the packaging of
products to ensure compliance with cGMPs, SOPS, FDA, and DEA
guidelines. Completes accurate and timely documentation to comply
with FDA regulations. Uses computer systems to enter batch data,
reviews Standards Operating Procedures (SOPs), and operate
computerized equipment. Adheres to all regulatory guidelines
including execution of supporting product documentation. Adheres to
all safety practices. Completes required Safety Orientation by
understanding basic concepts of the procedures. Sets up and
operates a packaging machine in accordance with established
procedures and guidelines. Fills, secures, and labels containers
according to company and/or customer specifications. Verifies goods
packaged against package invoices. Relies on spoken and written
instructions and pre-established guidelines and SOPs to perform the
functions of the job. Runs machines for product runs. Packages
completed product during each run. Cleans the room when running a
different product or if dusty. Rounds up the components for the
following runs. Loads/Feeds the bottles. Keeps the outside
packaging area clear. Sets bad labels and seals aside for rework.
Packages bottles in designated box. Loads boxes on pallet. Makes
sure there---s no rework. Assists other teams with packaging and
loading bottles. Organizes the sample bottles that are the totes
located in the quarantine area. Takes the trash to the back area.
Organizes and clears the gowning area. Sets the pill counter to its
designated format. Measures the pills by length and width as well
as the bottle for accuracy. Verifies that the rails are set for the
right bottle width. Aligns the labeler for its bottle size ensuring
that when the bottle goes under the sensor that the labeler kicks
out the label in appropriate timing. Sets the height for the sealer
and verify that the caps get sealed properly. Sets up the capper to
the appropriate adjustments for height, width, and rail size.
Inserts cotton in bottles. Transfers product from rework bottles
into new bottles. Cleans or clears room which includes taking
machine apart, cleaning the parts, mopping, clean windows, seals,
wiping BH-38 conveyors with alcohol. As well as, wiping the machine
with alcohol. Opens boxes for the QC team. Checks status of room.
Sets up all machines in assigned room. Pulls product out for the
runs. Finds work for the temps to do. Boxes up finished product and
RFID. Physical/Cognitive Requirements: Must be able to exert up to
50 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force
constantly to move objects. Must operate equipment to assist moving
inventory including push cart, hand truck, forklift and pallet jack
approximately 10% of each day. Must lift, bend, stoop, climb, and
pull in the process of moving boxes and packages from one location
to another. Must climb stairs in order to store items in storage
racks. Must be able to package between 25 and 40 bottles a minute.
May be required to work longer than the typical 8-hour work day.
Miscellaneous Requirements: Maintain a strong attendance record.
Must be able to pass drug-screening and background check. Adhere to
company---s drug-free workplace policies. Knowledge of computer
equipment set-up.
