Advanced Photonix, a division of OSI Optoelectronics has an opening for an Assembler 3 who will be responsble for reading, interpreting, and following basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble parts and/or products. They will follow methods and sequence of operations in performing component installation, hand soldering, and cap welding on assembly units. They'll also use thinking and reasoning to solve problems and/or recommend updates on department procedures and manufacturing process. Responsibilities Prepare/clean material and product for in-process and/or final assembly. Complex die bonding of silicone and InGaAs photodiodes manually and/or automatic equipment per customer requirements on travelers and drawings. Complex encapsulation, underfill, scintillator fillet, etc. using various epoxies per customer requirements on travelers and drawings. Operate assembly equipment to complete complex assemblies using pick-and-place, laser marker, vacuum pens, plasma clean, vacuum ovens, wire bonding, soldering iron, etc. Uphold the company's core values of Integrity, Innovation, Accountability, and Teamwork. Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required. Relevant years of work experience may be substituted for a degree. 5+ years mechanical assembly experience required. Ability to regularly utilize a microscope and small hand tools, such as: tweezers, cutters, pliers, etc., for extended periods of time. Good hand eye coordination and high attention to detail. Working knowledge of computer skills. IPC J-STD-001 Certification. Must be able to read, write, and verbally effectively communicate in the business language (English).
