In the civilian space arena, Teledyne sensors are the most advanced sensors on board the Hubble space telescope, and they are also found on board the majority of NASA space probes and ground based telescopes. In the DoD arena, Teledyne sensors are integrated into several major systems for persistent surveillance, chemical detection, and target identification, among others.

Position Summary and Responsibilities

Position Summary:

Manufacturing Project Engineer is responsible for manufacturing activity tracking and monitoring, productivity analysis, process control and improvement, and documentation to facilitate the efficient manufacturing of infrared and visible imaging focal plane arrays.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The primary duties and responsibilities are as follows. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Maintain manufacturing project schedule by monitoring production progress, coordinating activities, and resolving schedule conflicts
  • Implement program integrated master schedule (IMS) and work breakdown structure (WBS) established for production and engineering projects
  • Work with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Manufacturing Execution System (MES) for tracking, analysis and reporting of production data
  • Analyze factory resources and workload, production throughput, cost, cycle time, and recommend actions
  • Analyzes manufacturing designs, specifications, processes, plans, and provide the management with data to define project requirements
  • Contribute to continuous improvements of production processes and product quality through lean manufacturing concepts and tools
  • Contribute to the development and execution of risk management plans for production projects
  • Research new methods of manufacturing processes and recommend actions for maximum production capacity and efficiency.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Competencies

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following desired qualifications and competencies:

  • Knowledge in Engineering, in particular semiconductor fabrication, and electrical and mechanical component assemblies
  • Experiences in project management, risk assessment/management, cost management, and production planning
  • Good organizational skills and effective communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Computer proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
  • Exemplary ethics and business conduct and work cognizant of safe work practices

Education and Experiences

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering disciplines with five (5) or more years of experience, in particular the production project management.

Citizenship Requirements

Due to the type of work at the facility and certain access restrictions, successful applicants must be a U.S. Citizen.
