Substance Use Disorders Treatment Coordinator

Under the direction of the Director of Clinical Services, the Substance Use Disorders Treatment Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and coordinating education, assessment, and treatment for Substance Use Disorders across campus programs, including in the Short-Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP), Non-Public School (NPS), Transitional Youth Services (TYS), and Camino a Casa. Carries out the mission of Casa Pacifica as related to the ongoing clinical assessment, treatment, and progress of youth within campus programs.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (illustrated by typical activities):* Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures for the treatment of substance use disorders across campus programs.* Coordinate with program and agency leadership to develop and implement training for direct care and clinical staff related to substance use assessment, prevention, and intervention.* Provide consultation to clinical staff and program supervisors regarding strategies for evaluating, managing, and treating substance misuse among youth in campus programs.* Collaborate with Health Services staff to identify and implement best practices for assessing and addressing needs of youth with substance misuse behaviors (e.g., assessing for signs/symptoms of intoxication, withdrawal, or overdose; managing random drug screening procedures).* Shadow and coach direct care and clinical staff during milieu interactions as well as individual, group, and family interventions to evaluate/ensure quality of substance use treatment services.* Support program staff in developing and delivering discharge recommendations and referrals to support youth transitions from Casa Pacifica campus services.* Maintain a caseload of youth with substance use treatment needs, including assessing the clinical needs of the youth, developing a treatment plan, making referrals to needed resources, and creating a discharge plan for assigned clients.* Provide clinical services such as individual therapy, rehabilitation services, parenting skills training/family therapy, and case management/collateral services as appropriate to the individual needs of the youth.* Collaborate with youth development specialists, education staff, health clinic staff, parent partners, youth advocates, families, and youth to provide comprehensive clinical care for the youth and to ensure program consistency and continuity throughout the day.* Act as liaison with placement agencies and community partners to provide coordinated care, including working closely with schools, child welfare, behavioral health, law enforcement, and recreation agencies.* Maintain organized and up-to-date clinical documentation and client charts in compliance with legal/regulatory requirements and ethical best practices, including documenting progress notes, completing assessments, and preparing additional written documentation/correspondence as required. * Attend outside training events and conferences as requested.* Maintains compliance with all local, County, State, and Federal government regulations to include Title 22, Division 6, and prepare reports required by regulatory agencies.* Maintain confidentiality in all matters within the organization with respect to personnel, operations and clients.* May perform other duties as assigned from time to time.Position requires staff must be at least 21 years of age. Completed and cleared Live Scan, criminal statement, health screening with TB test. Must undergo a one-hour training which reviews mandatory reporting requirements as per Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act (CANRA). This training takes place during pre-service orientation training and periodically thereafter. Valid driver's license is required for transporting youth. Any changes that occurs on your driving record must be reported immediately to your supervisor. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, or licensed psychologist with experience working with children and adolescents with significant social, emotional, and behavioral challenges. Ideal candidate will also possess certification as an alcohol or drug counselor, e.g., Certified Addiction Treatment Counselor (CATC) or Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) and/or have prior experience providing adolescent substance use treatment.CREDENTIALS: LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, CADC, CATC or psychologist with California license.OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to use various computer software, including Microsoft Office Suites. Bilingual in Spanish, preferred. Knowledge of Title 22, Division 6 licensing requirements and knowledge of Short-Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP) or adolescent residential care. Strong organizational, communication and leadership skills. Strong human relations skills and excellent interpersonal skills.Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to write comprehensive evaluations and progress notes/ reports on youth's treatment goals.Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply principles of logic or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism in its most difficult phases.
