Duties and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be part of the KBR team supporting
the Test Resource Management Center's (TRMC) Big Data (BD) and
Knowledge Management (KM) Portfolio working on prototype BD and KM
systems for DoD testing Ranges and various acquisition programs.
The Software Trainer will be responsible for establishing and
maintain a robust training curriculum from the ground up as well as
all accompanying documentation, lesson guides, how-to videos and
provide online and in-person "train the trainer" seminars for the
Cloud Hybrid Edge-to-Enterprise Evaluation and Test Analysis Suite
(CHEETAS) software platform as well as any other related developed
software, tools or underlying technologies. The successful
candidate will work closely with the CHEETAS external development
partner team and the BDKM KBR team members to support the TRMCs Big
Data customers by ensuring that the software being delivered to
TRMC has the required training material to support the DoD end
users. The ideal candidate is adept at establishing from scratch
all required processes, procedures, and relevant documentation
artifacts for the following: Establish and maintain a robust
training curriculum, plan, prepare and research lessons, prepare
teaching/course material, create/upgrade/post online written lesson
guides and how-to videos, assess individual and group training
needs, instruct users on an individual or group basis either
on-line or at the customers site, apply new technologies to deliver
courses and improve the learning experience for users (e.g.,
distance learning, interactive CBT, blended training). Candidates
must be self-motivated and capable of working independently with
little supervision / direct tasking. The successful candidate will
be expected to assist the QA team with the testing of CHEETAS
sprint deliverables every 2-3 weeks.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience in
standing-up a training curriculum and providing remote (i.e.,
on-line) and onsite (at a customer's location) instruction for the
end-users. Candidates must be comfortable working with a wide range
of stakeholders and functional teams at various levels of
experience physically located in every time zone nationwide, have
excellent communication skills and be comfortable providing
training to customers after the installation and configuration of
updated software packages (i.e.: CHEETAS and associated server
environments). The right candidate will have a passion for
providing DoD research development test and evaluation (RDT&E)
analyst end-users professional training for all released products.
To do this you will frequently work with data engineers, software
engineer and quality assurance team members, and interact with DoD
Range analysts end users.
This requires the ability to effectively communicate at both a
programmatic and technical level. Software Trainers of all
seniority levels are encouraged to apply and will be considered.
This position is anticipated
to eventually require 25% travel based on workload to support end
users located at various DoD Ranges across the CONUS. Come join the

Basic Qualifications and Skills Requirements:
Must be a US citizen.
This position requires a bachelor's degree in Computer Science,
Software Engineering or related, technical field, and 7-10 years of
experience. Advanced degrees may be substituted for years of
experience on a year-for-year basis.
Previous experience must include five (5) years of hands-on
experience as a software teacher, trainer or instructor.
Previous experience must include five (5) years of hands-on
experience in software testing / quality assurance.
Significant travel will be required with this position, 25% travel
anticipated working at DoD facilities with customers depending on
workload.
Active or Current Secret Clearance required - Top Secret Clearance
preferred.
Skills Required:
Prior adult education material training experience. Teacher,
trainer or instructor certification (e.g., MCT, MTS) is
preferred.
Exceptional communication skills and the ability to work well with
people at all levels are essential. Ability to communicate orally
with software designers/vendors, IT management, and software users
(esp. nontechnical users) is crucial.
Knowledge of, experience with educational, presentation
software.
Ability to quickly set up and use audiovisual equipment.
Experience with PowerPoint, Word, Visio
Experience with Confluence and Jira is a plus.
Must be prepared to learn new business processes or application
nuances every 2-3 weeks when new CHEETAS sprint releases are
provided to the TRMC KBR BDKM team.
Experience with working in teams supporting research and
development or test and evaluation within the DoD is preferred.
Ability to problem solve, debug, and troubleshoot while under
pressure and time constraints is required.
Working knowledge in software testing, quality control, requirement
traceability, bug tracking and corresponding open source and
proprietary tools and applications. Must have an excellent
knowledge of advanced methods, and experience in applying those
methods to solve problems.
Ability to communicate effectively about technical topics to both
experts and non-experts at both the management and technical level
is required.
Excellent interpersonal skills, oral and written communication
skills, and strong personal motivation are preferred.
Ability to work independently and provide appropriate
recommendations for optimal design, analysis, and development of
training curriculum is a must.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills are required, as
the Software Trainer candidate will be in frequent contact with the
project technical lead, be taking direction from various government
leads, and will frequently be interacting with external developers
and end-users to gather and document training requirements and
implement training materials.
Ability to teach and mentor team members with a variety of skill
levels and backgrounds is a plus.
Excellent programming, testing, debugging, and problem-solving
skills.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills Requirements (optional):
The preferred candidate will have experience working in
government/defense labs and their computing restrictions.
Knowledge of the Test and Training Enabling Architecture (TENA),
the Joint Mission Environment Testing Capability (JMETC), and
Distributed Testing and Training.
Experience working with major DoD Acquisition programs such as
Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) or other major platforms is a plus.
Knowledge of DoD Cybersecurity policies.
Scheduled Weekly Hours:
40 hours/week
Basic Compensation:
$130,200-175,000
The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate's
knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration
of internal parity.
Additional Compensation:
KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation
to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual
designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on
bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term
incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional
performance.
