Description
The Ventura County Community College District (VCCCD) is seeking a
highly motivated and experienced Executive Director of Operations
to join our team. As an equity-minded employer, we welcome

throughout Ventura County. The Executive Director of Operations
will be responsible for managing administrative affairs in the
Chancellor's Office and providing sensitive and confidential
project management support to the Chancellor. This is a full-time
position located at the District Administrative Center in

WHAT YOU'LL DO
The Executive Director of Operations directs and coordinates
sensitive and confidential project management support for the
Chancellor; manages the administrative affairs of the Chancellor's
Office; supports District-wide senior level leadership
collaboration and effectiveness; and is responsible for
communication and complaint resolution on behalf of the
Chancellor.

The District Administrative Center, centrally located in Camarillo,
oversees administrative functions and provides leadership and
services to the three colleges in support of VCCCD's mission.

SALARY PLACEMENT
Generally, salary placement is on the first step of the salary
range, but advanced step placement may be granted depending on
related education and experience.
Note: On July 1, 2023, this position will be receiving a 4% salary
increase making the new salary range $161,441 - $216,340
annually.
Representative Duties
Assist the Chancellor in overseeing the daily activities and needs
of the Office of the Chancellor and Board of Trustees; prioritizes
and manages the Chancellor's schedule and day-to-day activities of
the Office of the Chancellor to ensure timely and effective
responses and strategies to critical incidents and events. E
Serve as a liaison between the Chancellor and District executives,
community leaders, and the public; communicate on behalf of the
Chancellor and ensure follow-through on projects, events, and
community meetings. E
Evaluate priorities and disseminate information from the Chancellor
to others; research key policy/program matters and suggest
positions to be taken on various matters; draft reports, other
correspondence, and presentations for internal and external
communication. E
Collaborate with senior executives to identify business,
government, and educational partnerships to further the strategic
goals and initiatives of District areas and departments; identifies
potential and/or necessary internal and external stakeholders, and
build strong working relationships with local, state, and federal
elected officials and their staff. E
Serve as a change champion for assigned District efforts; supports
and moves new initiatives forward by resolving issues or obstacles
impeding cohesive movement towards organizational goals; provides
clear timely communication regarding project scope and status to
ensure stakeholder buy-in and mission alignment. E
Coordinate the resolution of issues of a sensitive nature. E
Keep informed of applicable policies, procedures, and regulations
which affect the Chancellor's Office and respond accordingly. E
Ensure that District timelines are met through coordination with
executives and managers. E
Coordinate executive recruitment and lead leadership transitions
including campus interview coordination, internal and external
communication, celebrations and honoring ceremonies, and
on-boarding. E
Provide effective assistance in planning, communicating,
administering, and evaluating complex District programs, studies,
functions, services, contracts, and projects, as well as
accomplishing the administrative objectives of the Chancellor and
the policy goals of the Board of Trustees. E
Monitor state and federal legislation to inform the District of
possible impacts on community colleges and assist with policy
development and lobbying efforts. E
Complete comprehensive analytic research, preparing well-written
reports, attend Board of Trustees meetings and work sessions, and
make effective presentations to the Board of Trustees, other
government agencies, commissions, and members of the public. E
Contribute professional administrative and analytical assistance to
the Chancellor regarding Districtwide issues, programs, goals and
objectives, and/or operations. E
Serve as a management liaison and develops strategic relationships
with various boards, committees, and community stakeholder groups.

Oversee various special projects as assigned by the Chancellor.

Serve as the District's public information officer. E
Supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned employees, set
performance requirements and goals, monitor and coach for
improvement, promote excellence and customer service, and take
disciplinary action if needed according to District rules. E
Work collaboratively and professionally with faculty, staff,
students, and stakeholders from diverse academic, socioeconomic,
cultural, disability, gender identity, and ethnic communities.

E = Essential Duties
Minimum Qualifications
A bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university AND
three years of professional-level experience in managing
administrative projects and processes, and serving as a liaison
with stakeholders (e.g. community, governing bodies, non-profits)
on behalf of the employer.
OR
A master's degree in public administration, business
administration, educational administration, or closely related
field AND two years of professional-level experience in managing
administrative projects and processes, and serving as a liaison
with stakeholders (e.g. community, governing bodies, non-profits)
on behalf of the employer.

EXAMINATION AND SELECTION PROCESS:
This is an examination open to the public and current district
employees seeking a promotional opportunity. To ensure

A) Evaluation of Training and Experience (T&E)
B) Technical Interview
Applicants must meet the minimum requirements by the filing

(T&E) Evaluation.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE (T&E) EVALUATION:
A T&E is an assessment by subject matter experts of training
and experience, beyond the minimum requirements, that have prepared
the candidate for the position as evidenced in the application
materials. When completing the application and the supplemental
questionnaire (if applicable), outline in detail your education,
training (such as classes, seminars, workshops), and experience.

on the training and experience (T&E) evaluation.
TECHNICAL INTERVIEW DATE RANGE AND LOCATION:
Date Range: Monday, June 5, 2023, to Friday, June 9, 2023
Location: The Technical Interview will be conducted remotely, using
Zoom. In order to participate in the interview, you must have
access to a computer with a camera, microphone, speakers, and a
reliable connection to the internet.
The examination components and dates are subject to change as needs
dictate. All communication regarding this process will be delivered
via email.
