and part time employeesTHE POSITION:The Staff Accountant will join
our team for a 35-hour work week as a dedicated problem solver and
team member that will work to improve our company efficiency and
performance through development of clear and consistent business
processes and accounting policies to support agency growth. This
person will work in-house and help coordinate all financial and
accounting efforts and work with an external accounting
team.RESPONSIBILITIES:Help to prepare and maintain financial
records, reports and general ledgerCode invoices, transactions and
employee expense reports and include necessary allocations across
locationsRegularly review bookkeeping for accuracySupport month-end
and year-end close processManage all payroll processing and
reportsDevelop and manage budgeting policy and procedures and
purchasing systemsReview monthly department budgeting and reports
to maintain expenditure controlsReview vendor statements, resolve
discrepanciesManage all accounts payable data and obtain required
documents from vendors or employeesVerify and complete timely
payment of invoices and ensure payments are charged to appropriate
accountsManage invoicing system including lease payments and
utility statementsManage, reconcile, code and allocate credit card
transactions, obtaining appropriate documentation from staff.
Includes AMEX, DIVVY software and budgets, and Work with Directors
to set attainable goals that support the agency growth trajectory
and support the department in the progress toward these
goalsReview, evaluate and update accounting processes and
procedures as needed and strengthen internal controlsFile tax forms
with federal, state, and local government agencies as needed such
as use tax, property tax, etc.Make financial recommendations, and
recommend ways to reduce costsPerform other related duties as
assignedMaintain knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and
proceduresMaintain confidential and secure storage of important
financial informationMaintain confidentiality of clients and of
proprietary information. Maintain clear understanding of HIPAA
rules and ensure compliance throughout the department.Attend and
complete all in-service training and educational workshops.Attend
all required staff meetings and trainings.Maintain knowledge of and
act in accordance with Balance Treatment Center mission and
philosophy.Maintain knowledge of and act in accordance with current
legal standards pertaining to professional practice, reporting
requirements, professional boundaries, and related
issues.Demonstrate respect for cultural and lifestyle diversities
of clients and staff.QUALIFICATIONS:Following are the
qualifications required to perform the essential functions of this
position. Qualifications may be subject to modification based on
the Americans with Disabilities Act.Education and
Experience:Bachelors degree in Accounting, or related field,
required.At least two years of related experience required.Required
Skills/Abilities:Excellent verbal and written communication
skills.Excellent organizational skills and attention to
detail.Ability to work collaboratively and communicate
effectively.Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost
accounting.Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally
accepted accounting principles.Ability to correctly prepare tax
reports.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software,
and accounting software.Vision, hearing, manual dexterity and
hand-eye coordination must be adequate for performance of job
duties. Able to sit at desk, use keyboard, write and physically
perform other job duties. Able to move about the facility to
observe clients and staff.Must be customer-service driven.Specific
