Job Description TITLE: Controller STATUS: Exempt SALARY: $95,000
OVERVIEW The Controller will plan and oversee the overall
accounting and financial functions of the agency under direction of
the CFO. The Controller will coordinate with the Accounting Manger
to ensure the efficient operations of the Accounting Department,
which include accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank
reconciliations, audits, and payroll. Controller will directly
supervises the Accounting Manager and the Payroll Administrator.
Oversees training programs and identifies training needs. Assist
CFO to develop and monitor Agency & Department budgets. Assume the
role as financial liaison to the Department Directors. DUTIES ---
Essential responsibilities and duties may include but are not
limited to the following: -- Maintains a documented system of
accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls
over accounting transactions to minimize risk. Supervise the
Accounting Manager. -- Oversees the production of periodic
financial, regulatory & tax reports and cash forecasts; ensures
that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting
principles. -- Develop and implement procedures to ensure the
financial month---s-end close is timely and accurate., in order to
produce monthly financial statements to Finance Committee. --
Coordinate with Accounting Manager to perform all bank & accounting
reconciliations. -- Recommend and implement procedures to reduce
costs and increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the Finance
department. -- Assist CFO to produce monthly key performance
indicators used to measure the agency---s performance. -- Assist
the CFO and Accounting Manager to produce annual budgets and any
mid-year adjustments; reports significant budget variances to
Officers Team. -- Produce a cash flow projection on quarterly basis
or as directed by CFO and present to Finance Committee. --
Administers bi-monthly payroll administration, including all
monetary aspects of 401(k) administration and reporting. Supervise
Payroll Administrator. -- Oversee the annual financial statements
audit by independent auditors and coordinate with Department
Directors in developing new grant applications and awards budgets
and monitor financial performance of existing program. -- Ensures
compliance with local, state, and federal government and grant
requirements. Prepare, in collaboration with program staff and CFO,
program budget modifications and reports. Develop and maintain a
system for contract & grant compliance. -- In absence of CFO, sign
agency checks from accounts payables and assumes duties of CFO upon
direction by the CEO. -- Performs other related duties as necessary
or assigned by CFO. QUALIFICATIONS --- -- Bachelor---s degree in
Accounting or Business Administration or equivalent work
experience. -- Ten years or more of related experience required
with 4 years in a management or executive capacity. -- Certified
Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation
preferred. -- Excellent management and supervisory skills. --
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. -- Ability to
communicate effectively with staff and public. -- Ability to
recognize and maintain confidentiality. -- Excellent organizational
and time management skills. -- Proficient in accounting software,
preferably Sage Intacct. -- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or
similar software. -- Successful background and criminal clearance
required and maintained, including but not limited to consumer
credit check, California Department of Justice (DOJ), Federal
Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Child Abuse Index, and Department of
Motor Vehicles (DMV). -- Proof of a valid California---s driver---s
license, reliable transportation, proof of auto insurance (listed
as covered), pass and maintain driving approval as required by our
